Dear Sophie,

My one year old skunk Trigger has started to rub his head on my foot. Why does he do that? I took him to the vet for a checkup, but was told he is fine.

Sophie says,

That's one of the many ways a skunk shows affection to their humans. Sophie rubs her face on her Daddy's foot to tell him she loves him and also to mark her territory so the other skunks in the household know he belongs to Sophie. Some say it is a sign of intestinal parasites. It can also be an abscessed tooth. If your Vet has checked this out already, then it is probably a sign of affection.
